In the aftermath of the devastating fire that engulfed the auto carrier Fremantle Highway, authorities in the Netherlands are reporting extensive damage to the ship's upper decks. The incident, which occurred on August 1, has left the four uppermost decks severely compromised, rendering them impractical for recovery operations.

Fremantle Highway Delayed in Port

Due to the significant damage, the Fremantle Highway will remain in the Dutch port of Eemshaven until October 14. Officials are working to secure the vessel and prepare it for further recovery efforts.

Lost Cargo and Environmental Concerns

Salvage of 2,700 Vehicles

Recovery operations have begun for the approximately 2,700 vehicles that were on board the Fremantle Highway during the fire. The affected autos are expected to be removed from the ship and transported to their intended destinations.
